How to Play Winter Golf the Right Way...

The weather is turned certainly for the worst now. It is time to get into proper winter mode.

Here are a couple of tips myself (Dave), Josh, Jack and Tom use when playing golf in the winter.

Play for team golf and not worry about your score - Texas Scrambles etc are way more fun this time of year. The ball does not travel as far and the conditions wet underfoot make the strike difficult. Team golf is great because you do not have to hit great shots all the time!

Pack the hand warmers - warm hands make such a difference to the grip and feel. 3 packs for £5 in the Pro Shop is the best buy all winter.

Carry - trolley this time of year become really annoying as you have to manoeuvre them around roped areas etc. Getting a nice light carry bag is so much easier you can get closer to the green and tees. Pack the trolley away and get the carry bag out. I personally love a Titleist carry bag as pictured.

Carry fewer clubs - are you really going to need all 14 clubs this time of year... the answer is no. Drop the set down to 10, you will be surprised by how well you still play. The Tiger Woods 3 iron stinger is a shot you don't need in December!

Wear sensible footwear - get the black spiked shoes back out. You want stability and grip this time of year. Something you will not get with spikeless shoes. If your spikes are showing signs of wear drop them into us and we will replace them for £15.

Wear and snood and beanie hat - keep the heat inside you. Losing heat from your head and neck is the worst. Keep warm!
