Confidence with your driver

You might think that you’re worried about hitting your driver because you’re worried about making a mistake. But what you’re actually afraid of is the consequence of that mistake, which is why minimising the risk lets you be confident, not cautious, with driver in hand.

You can do this by eliminating misses to one side. For example, in the above illustration, eliminating that right-side miss will take away the danger of a water hazard and any penalty strokes. Suddenly you’re looking at missing to the left, which isn’t the end of the world, or striping one down the runway.

Looking at the PING G425 drivers, the SFT model is actually weighted to give you a draw bias; helping avoid misses to the right. That’s ideal for the hole above as you could give it a good old whack and get further down the fairway without being scared of losing balls in the water and totting up the score.

While the SFT design is ideal if you usually miss to the right, you might find you benefit more from the forgiveness of the G425 Max model or that you can shape the ball with the LST design. Hopefully the video above will help you figure that out.
