Division one was taken by Ian Downes, both Ian and Graham were in the same year at school and Ian was a founder member of CMGC back in 1993.

As you can see age is no obstacle for Ian who cruised to 39 points to take spot in Division One.

Ian's playing partner Chris Rigby had a front-row seat of the round and had this to say on his playing partner.

'Ian played so steady, he just didn't miss a fairway. The victory was well deserved and shows that seniors golfers can compete within the main section of the club'.

Greens settling down really well

As mentioned last week the greens on Foxes Run have been tined, cored, top dressed, fertilised and seeded. A massive 30 ton has gone on to get the surface nice and smooth.

I took these pictures Monday just four days after the work had been done and as you can see they are already coming back really well. With a bit of rain forecast, it should wash it in lovely.

Open Season

We are normally well into the open season however with the first three canceled we are looking to make up for a lost time! Visitors, please call the shop to book your slot.

Members can book online via the BRS. Entry is £10 per person for members including a meal after and £17.50 per person visitors including a meal after. £2.50 per person for the nearest the pins is paid on the day.

Golf on Tour

The wait was worth it

The long wait for a Major was worth it. What an incredible PGA Championship we saw at TPC Harding Park! Sunday morning myself (Dave) Tom and Jack were all debating who would win. DJ loves a 54 hole lead but rarely wins so we ruled him out. Both Jack and Tom fancied Cam Champ but I quietly had £5 a 12/1 on Colin to bring it home.... which he did!

A highly-competitive tournament saw everybody from rising stars to relative unknowns and, of course, Brooks Koepka all have a pop at the Wanamaker Trophy. In the end, it was rising star Collin Morikawa who came out on top.

Usually, pars are enough when you hold the lead on Sunday at a Major, but not this time. A six-under 64, including a chip-in birdie on 14 and an eagle on the 16th, took Morikawa to -13 for the week to claim an incredible victory aged 23 and in just his second Major start.

We had a poll on our website last week that asked who was most likely to dominate golf over the next decade. Jon Rahm was by far the favourite - he's back to World Number One now - followed by Koepka and then Justin Thomas.
