Welcome to another edition of our newsletter, bringing you the latest goings-on from in and around the club. We hope you've had a great week both on and off the course. Plenty of good golf was played over the last week; Tyrell Hatton’s win at Bay Hill was a reminder of his undoubted talent, which Europe will need in the Ryder Cup later this year whilst here at Cleobury we had some great wins from Stu, Nick, Nina and Chris. Enjoy the read.

Peaky Blinders
A big thank you to everyone who attended the Peaky Blinders night here at CMGC on Saturday, 7 March. It was great to see the effort everyone went with their outfits, if you have any pictures from the evening please add them to our Facebook page.
Comedian Aaron James was on top form once again to help the night flow effortlessly with plenty of laughs and quick wit to catch a few of us out. Kirsty and Jacky from the Steve Bull Foundation ran a raffle, auction and a game of heads and tails, once we have the figure from this fundraising we will let you all know. Bringing the night to a close was the very talented and popular Re-booted who had everyone dancing for over 2 hours. It was a great night with plenty of good feedback.
Our next event is Saturday, 2 May with entertainment from The Jersey Boys. More information will be revealed over the next week or so.

Playing through the rain...
The Men’s Betterball on Sunday, 8 March went ahead despite more rain Saturday night but that didn’t seem to dampen the spirits too much.
Plenty of under-par scores were secured with good knocks from Ian Gough and Paul Harrison, Jamie and Lyndon Gardner and Alan Preece and Dave Bradley but no pairing could quite match Stu Flello and Nick Firth.
Stu and Nick (pictured) shot an impressive 54 points, which was helped by playing the par 3’s in 2 under with many teams dropping points when both scores were to count. Well-played chaps.
This week is a weekend Stableford bookable by BRS.

Congratulations to Nina Ford and Chris Perry who have advanced to the next round of the Daily Mail Foursomes competition. Nina and Chris didn’t put a foot wrong on their way to a 9 and 8 victory.
Best of luck in the next round. |
Course Work The team have been busy tidying up some trees including areas on the 5th Badgers, 8th/9th Foxes and 3rd Deer Park.
A lot of this work will mean fairer playing conditions for the golfers and will also help the team when maintaining these areas with the grass now starting to grow.
The weather looks like it is improving so all being well we will be finishing off the micro coring on the greens before scarifying them in a few weeks time to take away any further thatch. The greens will get another cut towards the end of the week and hopefully, if the weather behaves next week, we’ll start some cutting on the par 3’s to begin with.

‘One of the important things about good golf is consistency and repetition’ We all know that’s easier said than done so when there's a way of creating consistency, it makes sense to take advantage. That is the point of Golf Pride’s ALIGN grips, which feature a raised ridge on the back (the red strip) to ensure repetitive hand placement, helping to keep the face square throughout the swing. Even better still, you can get a FREE ALIGN grip by coming to see us for a grip fitting! Click the link for more information.
