What’s in the bag? Dave and Tom Grip Edition.
Dave
With my set I have gone for a bit of a mix.
Starting with the Golf Pride Multi Compound Align on the driver, I love the mix of cotton cord in the upper hand area which is great for dealing with the British weather and rubber in the lower hand for great feel, the align ridge on the back of the grip also helps me square the club face at impact.
On my irons I have the Golf Pride Z Grip Cord Align, these are firm and super grippy offering amazing feel.
On the wedges I have midsize grips to stop my hands flicking through the ball and on the LW - I have the multi compound plus 4 - the 4 layers of tape on the bottom half make such a difference when needing 'soft' hands around the greens.

Tom
I went for a bit of a change this year having previously used the Golf Pride Plus 4 Grips and the Lamkin Z5 over the last couple of seasons. This year, after Jack recommended them I have gone for the Golf Pride Z- Grip Cord through the bag. As Dave mentioned, they are a firm grip; in fact, they are Golf Prides firmest cord grip. The Z Grip combines two layers of texturing for feedback and a deep “Z”-shaped texture pattern that winds vertically around the grip for control.
With the weather still very dodgy the grips benefit from a moisture-wicking brushed cotton cord for added stability and traction in all weather conditions.
They also look great for anyone who wants to add a stylish, fresh new look to their clubs.

If you are interested in getting your clubs re-gripped please speak to Josh or Jack who can run you through all the different options and sizes available. Don’t forget, if you play on average 18 holes a week you should get your clubs gripped once a year.
Jack and Josh will also be releasing some MOT Specials throughout March to get you ready for the season so please keep an eye out on what they have to offer in next weeks newsletter.

Results
Competition results have been a bit sparse recently, I wonder why that is?
Anyway, on Saturday 22nd Feb we held a 9-hole better ball Stableford played over Badgers Sett. Plenty of good pairings were ready to battle and the scoring was fantastic with the average score coming out as 21. Ade Bloomer and Geoff King who play plenty of golf between them gelled well to finish on 23 points a long side Club Captain Paul Judge and Dave Mendham. Both would finish one short to Stu Wilson and Warren Fettes who couldn’t put a foot wrong as they cruised to 24 points. Warren recorded 4 pars and Stu 3 as they crucially finished with 3 points on each of the last 3 holes.
Well played chaps, let’s hope the weather doesn’t trouble this weekend’s weekend Stableford bookable by BRS.

New promotion available to you We launched this last week and the initial take up has been phenomenal! It's not just about making sure you replace the grips on your clubs every year. Instead, we want you to have the correct sized grip and the right type of grip (tacky, chorded and so on) too. This will only be running for a few more weeks so come and see us in the pro shop if interested. |

Last week we revealed a remarkable statistic regarding the number of golfers playing grips that are over a year old, but what impact does that actually have on your game? Well, we decided to do some digging... |
| Tension whilst gripping | Grips are made from rubber and are prone to wear and tear, just like the tyres on your car. When they become worn, your grips will lose tackiness and your hands will start to slip during the swing, resulting in poorer shots.
The thing is, you’ll likely overcompensate by holding on to your clubs too tight, creating more tension and stiffness during the swing.
|
| Limited time offer in-store now | We know it sounds all doom and gloom, but it does make a huge difference to your game. That's why we're running this promotion at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club, so you can experience the benefits of a new grip first hand.
There’s no catch, just pop by the shop before your next round to take advantage. |
