A lovely day here at CMGC as I write this week’s newsletter. This week we have so much to report with more dates for the diary. The course is getting dryer but would still like to see a bit more wind to really help it. Enjoy this week’s read.

Men's pairs results The Saturday pairs competition was once again very well subscribed with 20 teams vying for the top spot. The talk before the tee-off was what a good score is. With the best score on each hole but both scores to count on par 3’s. Something over 50 points would surely be in the frame. |
Karl Tyers and Paul Harrison managed to get to 53 points but that was only good enough for second place… zero points on the 9th did not help! The division 2, in form golfer, Nick Firth and his partner Ian Juckes shot a huge 55 points to take the top spot. They played the par 3’s really solidly picking up 22 points. Pictured here is Nick, the man that everyone needs to catch at the moment! This weeks competition is back to being over the two days, you can sign up via the BRS by clicking here. |

The AD333 Tour – perfect for a mid-range swing speed but for the golfer that wants the performance of a tour ball. This basically means it flys through the air for distance, but is also nice around the greens. The AD333 – is a very low compression ball which therefore feels great around the green. It gives a balanced performance between distance and greenside control. The Tour Soft – if you're looking for a consistent flying ball that has a tour-level soft feel this is for you. Anything that makes golf that little bit easier is a good thing in our eyes and if improving your iron play is up there on your to-do list then you’re in luck, as we have a treat we want to share with you. |
PING’s brand-new G710 irons are certainly worth trying out this year as they offer us all we need to make a big difference to our game – they also look incredible! The irons have been crafted using a stronger, faster, and more durable Maraging face which when coupled with the toe and heel weights helps deliver higher shots with an improvement in forgiveness. If you are looking for more consistency and control in 2020, we would strongly recommend booking in to give these a try at your local pro shop.
