Winter is here...
The course is very wet at the moment. The weather has not been kind to the golf industry for the last 6 weeks. We appreciate your patience and that you’re all using hedgehog wheels on trolleys or carrying. That said, we have had some lovely sunny days as pictured. The course always remains ‘open’ for you to play... it’s winter golf, it is what it is so bring your waterproof trousers, hat and gloves and enjoy being out with your mates.
The weekend sees a quiet Saturday but a busy Sunday with a Stableford and Mixed Winter league.
Thanks to CMGC member Adam Bloomer for sending us this picture.

Foremost Work Shop
Last week Dave, Josh, Christian and Jack headed to Kings Norton golf club for the annual Foremost Golf roadshow. For those who do not know Foremost are a golf buying group with over 1000 professionals attached to them. However, the Foremost brand is evolving with the click and collect, newsletter and overall business services they provide.
Going forward for 2020 the newsletter your currently reading will be having a re-vamp, along with the website. A big change will also be the ability to book lessons online rather than at the moment using the old paper diary! It is exciting times ahead for CMGC and the Foremost brand.

Tree Work on Course
With the weather conditions being so poor it has made access onto the course rather difficult over the last week the lads have been on the walkway from the second green to the third tee on Deer Park.
This area was starting to get overgrown and most importantly a lot of light was being blocked out behind the green. The sun will now be able to get through along with wind to help it recover and dry out quicker.
The medal tee on the 1st on Deer has also been tidied up and is now double the size, this should be in play ready for the qualifying season.

#468FCD ;text-align:left">Stats that'll make you thinkYou don’t get to a single-figure handicap without having a strong iron game, but the journey shouldn't end there. For us, there are two key factors that, when combined properly, will help take your iron play to the next level. |
1) Get custom-fitted If you're serious about shooting in the 70s each and every round, then getting custom-fitted for your next set of irons is key. PING’s i500 model feel fantastic off the face and provide precise distances and control, but that's no good if you're using the wrong shafts or you need 2-degrees flat but yours are standard.
2) Know your yardages The second stat above is remarkable and if you're one of the 21%, you need to come and see us for a gapping session. There we can give you the distances you hit each of your clubs as well as spot any issues you have between clubs.
