Hello golfers and friends of CMGC, before we delve too much into this week's newsletter I have some really great news. Golf events manager Matt Juliard and his partner Jade welcomed a baby boy into the world last Tuesday weighing in at 6lb 14oz. If you have any cards or well wishes please drop them into the golf centre as Matt is off until January with paternity leave and holiday to take. Congratulations to the Juliard family.
CMGC has once again been nice and busy. We have had various meetings with golf development officers this past week and they have been surprised at just how busy especially as we always have a full car park. Compared to other local courses that have been very quiet. Autumn is well and truly here with leaves falling and making it difficult to find balls in the wind. But I think the course is looking the best it ever has going into winter. I think you will all agree the greens are in superb condition and the greenkeeping team need a huge pat on the back for their continued efforts.
Here we have the 6th of badgers sett looking nice and green this autumn morning! The greens are splendid for the time of year. Greenkeepers Adam and Antony busy rolling the greens and changing the pins ready for a busy weekend. Course is looking top notch at the moment.
Pro AM's Continue to sell out in record time.
The professional alliance have once again sold out in record time with Hawkstone being filled in a matter of minutes after the details were announced on the blog. Therefore I am happy to announce the next alliance on November 27th will be at Cleobury. We have 3 teams in with Sam, Tom and Amy all entering teams (I got the short straw and have to work). Please get your name in ASAP to avoid missing out.
Coffee and bacon roll, 18 holes, meal after and prizes. These are great days and also a chance to network with other clubs.
Tom and Sam took CMGC member to Burghill Valley last week, a great time was had by all especially Andy Thomas who had 39 points with a blob on the last to take the money.
Both Tom and Sam were out in their new Stuburt winter wear and both commented on the quality of the wind stopper and how well the skins and shirts fit.
Tom 'the wind stopper was superb today it fits great and does not interfere with my swing like other brands do'.
Sam 'the shirt and skin fit really well and keep you very warm, so much so I had to take the skin off on the back nine! It really is quality clothing ideal for winter conditions'.
Pictured is Tom getting to rip one off the tee and Sam hitting another green on his way to a level par 71 in tough conditions. The full winter range is available at CMGC at lower than direct golf prices!
Titleist Deal
Last Thursday the legendary Titleist representative of the Midlands Ben Fisher stopped by at CMGC for a two hour meeting discussing 2015. Titleist are releasing a NEW Pro V1 in February with an even softer outer shell for extra feel around the greens. We will be one of the first to have stock and will be runing some great promotions in the New Year so you can get your hands on them before anyone else.
Ben was so impressed with the Cleobury set up and how well the ball has been represented by the members of CMGC. He offered Pro V1 players contracts for 2015 myself, Sam, Tom, Rob and Amy all put pen to paper and will be using the new Pro V1 in 2015. This is obviously great news for us and the club and goes well with the recent Stuburt brand ambassador announcement.
Here is a little statement from myself and the rest of team CMGC 'I am delighted to agree with deal with Titleist. The Titleist range has gone from strength to strength at Cleobury with 75% of our ball sales now being Titleist. The Pro V1 is the number one ball in golf, myself and the team will be representing the brand with pride when out playing in 2015'.
Celtic Manor Titleist Trip
On the back of the Pro V1 announcement I was sold on upgrading my driver to the new Titleist when it is released in November. I am planning to book a fitting on Monday November 17th. Should anyone like to also come for a fitting on the new range please let me know. Cost of fitting to be confirmed and I am happy to drive down from CMGC. The Titleist fitting centre is at Celtic Manor so it should be a fun trip. Please let me know by Monday if you would like to come.
Lesson Tariffs
The FREE 30 minute lessons Rob and Sam were offering are expiring at the end of the month.
Pictured are their lesson tariffs which offer outstanding value for coaches of their calibre.
