As we enter March it has once again been all hands-on deck here at CMGC, we have pulled 80% of our orders forward because we have been seeing so many of you. If you’re after some spring/summer clothing we have you covered.
|
This week we have plenty to cover (as normal), the lads on the greenkeeping team have continued to roll the greens and the bit of rain we’ve had is washing the top dressing in nicely. They have also applied a fertiliser mix of nitrogen and iron to keep any disease away and encourage some growth. They have started to cut back the rough and get the rest of the course tidied up after a busy two weeks on the course.
With the weather a little unsettled please give us a call if you require buggys etc as they are assessed on a daily basis. This was taken Monday morning after "Storm Freya" came through blue sky, however, the heavens did open later on. |
|
This weekend is quite busy especially Saturday so please call us to book tee times, Sunday is a pairs competition so please book in online or by calling us on 01299 271112. |

AJ and SJ march on
A big well done to Andy and Simon Johnson who beat a strong Ludlow pair in the Daily Mail Foursomes Knockout. The lads won 2&1 and progress to the next round. Heather and Sian Hawes also progress beating Upper Sapey on the first playoff hole. Heather and Sian enjoyed great success in the competition last year so lets hope they can put another run together. Fingers crossed both get home draws in the next round.

March Weekend Stableford
It’s still great to see so many members playing in the weekend comps at this time of the year, even when we have seen some more winter-like spells.
Some great scores were seen from both Saturday and Sunday - The top three scores from Division One were all from Saturday. The afternoon man Guy Taylor shot a very solid 38 points, however that only saw him take 3rd place on countback.
38 points was also scored by Paul Francis, and despite both Paul and Guy scoring 19 points on the back nine, Paul scored more points in the last three holes to take second place. Mike Wood was the man to squeeze one point ahead of Guy and Paul to finish in first place in Division One with 39 points. Unlike Division One, the top three scores from Division Two were all from Sunday. Rhys Short was one of the last players out on the course and finished up with a very neat 39 points. There were two players who fought for top spot, Dave Mendham and Simon Johnson. Both guys finished up with 41 points, but it was Simon Johnson who was able to put together a better back nine to come first place in Division Two. Well done to both Dave and Simon for putting in great scores in March. |

If you haven't, it could be harming your scores and ability to swing with confidence. Right now, we have a fantastic promotion running in-store where you can get your 7-iron regripped for FREE! All you need to decide is whether you want a Golf Pride ALIGN grip or a CP2 Wrap. Decisions, decisions. |

Driver technology continues to be the hot topic of conversation in the golfing world, as brands search for ways of giving us more forgiveness, greater distance and better accuracy off the tee. So, which drivers are really pushing the boundaries this year? |
Introducing Speed Chassis from Titleist This great bit of technology has one goal at its heart: increase your performance off the tee. An ultra-thin titanium crown allows the weight to be shifted lower and deeper for more forgiveness; a redesigned shape reduces drag by 20% to increase clubhead speed and distance; whilst a thinner face promotes both distance and forgivess. The combination of these three elements make up Titleist's Speed Chassis - what's not to love? Finding the right club for you can be a serious game-changer and sure-fire way of lowering your scores, and the best way of doing this is by taking advantage of our professional advice during an eye-opening custom fitting.
