Good day members and friends of CMGC, the sun has continued to shine even reaching 25 degrees this week. It is great still being able to have a beer on the patio after the round in the sun and not feel cold. A special shout out to the green keepers who are still pulling out all the stops with their course presentation. It really is a pleasure to be out their playing. As normal loads to report this week so lets get cracking….
FREE 30 minute lesson with the new team.
The new team of coaches are here and ready to start fixing swings and seeing lower scores. They also want to meet as many of you members as possible and are therefore offering a FREE 30 minute lesson to all 5 and 7 day members.
All you have to do is simply call us at the golf centre on 01299 271 112 to make your booking. The coaches are offering this up until October 12th therefore I would advise getting in early to get your desired time.
We are delighted to secure the service of Rob Grier and Sam Pain and firmly believe the level of coaching they will be bringing to CMGC is better than anywhere else in the local area. In Rob you have a professional who has coached European Tour players to Sam who is set to be one of the most qualified young professionals in the country.
Click here to check out their very impressive coaching biographies.
Both Rob and Sam will also be on hand to offer custom fitting either here at CMGC or at Stone driving range in their state of the art swing studio. Stone driving range is exactly one hour from CMGC and a very impressive set up, the swing studio alone cost £25,000 to put in.
They are committed to offering the best custom fitting experience around and the CMGC members that have already been up there have loved it. The main difference with Rob and Sam is that they care about the golfer and getting the right clubs to suit them. Compare this to Direct golf, American golf and other places where the professional on hand are inspired by commissions and giving you product they want you to have rather than what suits you.
Rob and Sam offer FREE fittings to CMGC members and have all of the top brands in stocks including PING, TaylorMade, Cobra and many more. However if you do not want to travel they can still fit you here onsite at CMGC.
A message from Rob.
"I am delighted to be joining Cleobury and I feel it is very important myself and Sam meet as many of you as possible. The lesson promotion is giving a little something back to the membership and we cannot wait to get started and get you all playing better golf. Cleobury is a fantastic set up with the 27 holes and lodges onsite making it always a busy and vibrant place. We firmly believe there is massive potential to grow the coaching locally and make Cleobury the one stop destination for coaching, custom fitting and of course golf."
So what are you waiting for give us a call and get your FREE lesson booked in.
More details on Rob and Sam first week will be coming next week along with their credit crunch beating price lists and lesson philosophy's.
Jack Severn down to 7
Men's September Stableford - 14/9/15 The sun continues to shine at Cleobury Mortimer with some great score continued to be posted in competition play. Dave Walker in his fresh new dry joys golf shoes purchased at the golf centre found extra stability and comfort on his way to 38 points which was leading all day until one the biggest talents at Cleobury struck. 13 year old Jack Severn shot 39 points which included a level par on the front nine. Jack's handicap is now down to 7 and is a regular in the Worcestershire county set up for the under 16's (they poached him from the under 14's as he is so good). Jack added 'my aim for the season is to be down to 6, I am getting close now and cannot wait for the next competition.
I also had the head of Worcestershire county phone me in the week to praise Jack particularly his level hand, polite personality and maturity for someone so young. Jack is one of the brightest prospect within the county and we are all very proud of him.

Final Sweep of the Year
The Ryder Cup is just over two weeks away and that means one thing…. The final CMGC sweep of the year (see picture above). Captains McGinley and Watson have confirmed their wild card picks and we have put each player from Team Europe and Team USA into a sealed envelope. Once all the envelopes have been sold they are to be opened to reveal your player to watch. Each envelope is £5
The winner of the sweep will be the player with the highest points scored. In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the biggest win margin in the singles, if that is a tie to goes back to the Saturday afternoon four balls and so on. There will also be a prize for the biggest win in the singles, just to make it a little fairer as not all players will be playing every match. Just a little something to make it a bit more interesting when watching as we all know Team Europe will trounce them! Over half have already been sold!!!!
Hole in One!
And finally, we could not forget congratulate Juliet Dugdale (pictured) who Aced the 6th of badgers on Wednesday, Well Played!
