| [*END*] Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter.
Well, after a couple of days of wet weather thankfully we are back on a dry spell. Adding the fertiliser to the greens Wednesday was a master stroke as the rain washed it in nicely, the ground is still very dry and can take a lot more rain yet! This week we have loads to report, plenty of events to get your name down for, and of course start planning Christmas! We have introduced winter rules to try and make it a little easier nice and early into the Autumn/winter season.
Enjoy the read.

Night Golf is back - ONLY 20 SPACES LEFT Night Golf at CMGC is always a big hit, last year over 100 played therefore John and Ange Gaskell are organising it once again. It’s on Friday, 26 October with a shotgun start at 7.30pm, all equipment is supplied so the only thing you need to bring is your clubs. The cost is just £20 per person including prizes, food and all lighting/glow equipment.
If you would like to sign up, a £10 deposit is required and the balance is to be paid on the night. You can sign up by calling the golf club on 01299 271112. This year they are also asking everyone who enters to bring one commercial firework. Whilst out on the course, Graham and Christian will be setting the firework up for a display after the golf.

Any surplus money made will go straight to the charities. What is Night Golf? A shortened course is made up on one of the nines at CMGC with glow stick lighting the course up. You then have golf balls with glow sticks in them that that glow through the night sky. It’s great fun and not to be missed out. If however, you want a ball that does not have to have the insert you can purchase these from Amazon.

Winter Golf
With winter just around the corner, the Pro Shop have been chatting. Are the weekend competitions enough through the winter? Would you be interested in a Winter Pairs Knockout or a Winter League? Would you prefer to have nine hole competitions over the winter to increase participation?
Obviously you can still play 18 holes but the competitions would only be over nine holes. If you have any suggestions about increasing competition participation over the winter please let us know HERE. |

Wednesday, 3 October was the Ladies Pink Day, it was really well supported with 27 ladies playing this year. The format was a Stableford Waltz which is a popular fun competition, yet again we had great weather and the team that returned with the best score was Gloria Bullock, Gay Hartwell, and Joanna Worsley with an amazing 89 points. Second on countback was Ross Harrop, Jane Franks and Helena Nash with 89 points and third was Chris Perry, Liz Cluely, and Claire Arthur with 70 points. |
Miss Designer Golf donated a great prize of a Golf Jacket so there was a separate stableford score for the Jacket which was won by Joanna Worsley who romped home with an amazing 43 points.
A raffle was also held and all proceeds from the day were donated to Breast Cancer. The amount raised at present is in excess of £300, a brilliant amount .This is Sian's, our Lady Captain's last fund raising event of her year.
A fantastic effort from all involved. |

New shoes this winter? If you're walking off the course with damp socks then it's time to invest in a new pair of golf shoes. FootJoy is widely regarded as one of the best footwear brands in golf, and you can get £20 OFF their ContourFIT golf shoe for a limited time. These are arguably the brand's most comfortable offering to date, so why not come down and try a pair on? |

When you step onto the tee with a driver in hand, there are two thoughts in most golfers' minds: "Hit it far, and hit it straight". Both of these were easier said than done, until Titleist released its new TS2 and TS3 drivers earlier this year... |
Both of these drivers are designed to bring more speed to your game, which results in greater distance. It's as simple as that. The Titleist TS2 is all about forgiveness. In fact, it has the highest MOI that Titleist has ever produced, which means it's more resistant to twisting at impact, for longer and straighter shots. However, if you have a consistent miss with your drives, the TS3 will be perfect for you as we can set it up to counter your destructive shot. With two models to choose from, it's more important than ever to come and see us for a custom fitting. What numbers will you be putting up on the Titleist board? |
