Triple Dutch is Back By now you should have had an email about the 2nd year of Triple Dutch. I would urge everyone to get involved as it is an amazing day. There are a couple of rules * If you play you must stop for the meal and presentation after play. * You must wear orange. * £5pp going to the junior fund. The reason for this event is that 20 years ago we had a young golf professional Marcus Knight at CMGC who was offered a job in Switzerland. He then landed the Head Professional position at one of Switzerland’s most exclusive and elite golf clubs, Golf & Country Club Schönenberg. While working at Schonenberg Marcus became great friends with long standing member Henk Stheeman. Marcus invited Henk over to CMGC and he immediately fell in love with our beautiful course and the friendly and relaxed manner in which CMGC is managed, he also developed a taste for Robinsons Cider, something you don’t find in Switzerland. Henk has three daughters who all play golf Jessica, Natalie and Emilie who have also visited and played CMGC. Sadly in 2016 Henk passed away and during the Summer of 2016. Henk played his last ever game of golf not at Schonenberg, but at CMGC! The three daughters contacted us earlier in 2017 to say that they had been talking about his love of golf and his affection for CMGC. The girls then suggested that they would like to host a celebratory golf day, including a meal, a glass or two of his favourite tipple and invite all the friends and acquaintances who had made him so welcome at CMGC. The event in 2017 was a fantastic success and Henk’s family loved it so much they wanted to do the same again in 2018 and 2019 to make it a true Triple Dutch.
