Hello one and all, the course has been rammed this week with the Seniors Open getting 47 teams of 4 playing. The greenkeepers have been coming in earlier to get the work done in the quieter times. As mentioned last week the bunkers have had a good sort and now extra sand has also been added. The greens are also getting double verti-cut once a week to keep on top of the seed heads. A verti-cut basically does what it says… The blades go vertically into the green and take off the seed head. This will give the greens some extra pace and keep them nice and smooth. You may have seen all of us out playing a bit this week with the weather being so good. We have had lots of great comments about the course and let’s hope it continues. We also managed to pick up a cheeky win in the Steve Bull classic at Penn Golf Club. Dave, Mark, Clive and super sub Sam picked up the yellowball competition on count back. Pictured here is the team with Steve Bull. A big thank you to Craig from Golf Pride who did the Grip Fitting Day with us on Saturday. Once again it was the busiest day he does. As always it was surprising to see how many people had the wrong size grips, with many going up to midsize.
