Hello one and all, another week passes us by and it is great to be wearing shorts, t-shirts and having a beer on the patio in the sun! As you can imagine the grass has been growing like crazy and the lads have been flat out on it keeping it under control. Thankfully this week they have also had two day on the bunkers tidying them up after they got washed away in the storm! Lessons are nice and busy for both Dave and Amy, you cannot beat being outside doing playing lessons. Look at the view below

Worcestershire Open Pro Am The fourth annual Worcestershire Open Pro Am was once again a huge success with 24 teams battling it out. The day was again kindly sponsored by Andy Smith of Kidderminster Self Storage this meant the professionals of Worcestershire were playing for £2340 throughout the categories. Some very steady scores were rolling in however the heavens suddenly opened at just past 5pm. The rain fall was of tropical standard. Play was suspended whilst the greenstaff cleared the greens. After a short delay the last four holes were played out. Simon Gabbitas went one better than 2017, shooting 39 points to pip Dave Leach by one. In the team event Bransford, who shot 89 points, were leading the whole day until the second from last group and defending champions Cleeve Hill came in with 91 to pip them by two. On behalf of everyone associated with Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club we would like to thank all who entered and supported the event. It was also very humbling to hear such nice comments on the course and how well the event was ran. See you in 2019! We’re sure the majority of you will agree that having a distance device on the course is a huge benefit, going hand-in-hand with knowing how far you hit each club. For those of you in the market for a laser rangefinder or GPS device, here are a few options within Garmin’s range to suit different preferences. |
Pinpoint laser accuracy There's one standout feature to Garmin's Z80 laser rangefinder that sets it apart from all others on the market. As well as giving precise distances up to 350 yards away, the Z80 also includes hole maps that are integrated into the viewfinder, which display the shape of the hole and provide front and back distances when you lock on to the flag. |
|
Information at a glance If you prefer wearable technology, Garmin has both GPS watches and bands to suit all styles. The Approach S60 watch, seen here on the left, boasts colour hole maps, hazard information and offers front, middle and back yardages. The other, the Approach X40 band, is a slim, lightweight and waterproof wristband that gives you distances to the green and to hazards, as well as heart rate and activity tracking. |
