Hello and welcome once again to more news from CMGC!

So far it has been an absolute scorcher of a week. This weather plays right into our hands as we have a bore hole! The irrigation is on from 7.30pm until 6am and therefore we are still nice and green compared to some places that are starting to turn brown.

This picture was taken Wednesday morning, the course is so good at the moment, but don't take our word for it, come on over for a game. Book in here.

The US Open was a bit of a let down in our opinion, don't get me wrong their golf was awesome, but you could see after two holes Brooks had it in the bag! Hopefully next year they will go back to making it hard with tight fairways.

Dave Lesson Availability

A really popular lesson for me at the moment is the 9 hole playing lesson. This is a great chance for me to see all elements of your game, including an area that often gets overlooked, Course Management.

Doug Jackson, Chris Newman and Mark Greenfield have all had one recently and have seen great results.

The 9 hole lessons are just £30 for members and £40 for visitors. If you would like me to have a look at all elements contact me here.

Anniversary Open Is this Saturday!

We are celebrating CMGC's birthday! It is teams of four in the fun Texas Scramble format. We also have our friend Craig from Golf Pride onsite. He will be offering FREE golf grips and advice on your grips and what to go for. He will be by the first of Badgers Sett and chatting away with Dave to all players.

The following times are left if anyone would like to play; 8.16am, 8.48am, 10.20am and 12.16pm.

Entry is £7.50 for CMGC members and £15 for visitors. If anyone is looking for a game I have a team of three playing at 1.36 who need an extra player.

The Boys Have Been Working Hard

The lads on the course this week have been busy hand watering and cutting, they have also done a bit of extra work on the short game area. Last October we made the green over three times bigger than it had been. It has taken really well, but we are in the process of ironing out the more exaggerated slopes. The new practice tees have also been heavily watered to make the grass coverage nice and tough. If your over there, check it out as it is looking really good.

We have also taken delivery of the new fairway mower. You may remember us talking about the £100K investment in machinery for this year. This machine is an absolute beast, it is the biggest and best fairway mower available in the UK. 7 blades on each head, with brushes on the front to stand the grass up and rollers on the back to compact it after its been cut.

George Hotel Charity Golf Day

Just £30pp for Cleobury members on Thursday July 6th 2017, this fantastic day raises money for Clic Sargent and kicks off with a shot gun start at 11am.

It is a four ball event and the evening also sees the legendary Brian Little speaking after dinner.

Lady Captain's Day

Our Lady Captain Heather Pringle held a excellent Captain's Day it was very well supported and the weather was glorious. We would like to thank the kitchen for a excellent afternoon tea, the results were;
