Hello once again from us all here at CMGC! As normal there is plenty to report on this week. The club really is thriving at the moment. Subscriptions have been paid and I am happy to report that the numbers are once again up with many of the golfers who signed up on the taster membership staying on. Rob and the team have been out on the course working their magic after a few nice dry and windy days. We are saying it very quietly… but maybe our summer is finally here?
Although I personally take a bad picture below is possibly the best picture I have ever taken! The third of Deer Park looking very nice at the moment.
Bushnell V3 still only £199
The number one range finder on the market for under £200?
Yes you have read that correctly! American golf have these priced at £249 but we have them in at £199. These have been flying out at that price and we now just have 3 left.
If you have a GPS watch and not sure about it, take it off and ask to borrow Dave's Bushnell for a round. You will then wonder why you have never used one in the past. The V3 offers complete accuracy to within 1 yard from 400 yards. Once you hone in on the target it jolts so you know you have the correct target.
Remember just £199 and only 3 left.

You need to be in it to win it!
Summer Menu
George, Steph, Sally and Tracey have been busy putting the finishing touches to the summer menu.
The food is so good this season with the kitchen team busier than ever with additional bookings and trade from non golfers. Thankfully Dave and Tom have been chief testers and washing it down with a pint of Robinsons cider.
This week we have been treated to the latest burger creation. Two options are available made with locally sourced produce.
Remember you do not have to be a member to use the bar and beer garden. Everyone welcome for some lunch time trade.
The burgers are priced at just £7.75 and include the following.
100% chicken breast topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sweet chilli sauce and mayo finished with French fries
100% beef burger topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato and burger relish finished with French fries.
Add bacon and onion rings for an extra £1.20.
SJ Holes Out
Huge well done to Simon Johnson who hit a hole in one on the second of Foxes Run last weekend.
Simon playing for the club against Churchill and Blakedown three putted the first but responded by ripping his 3 wood in to the hole on the 2nd of Foxes.
We think they may have won that hole!
Well played sir.
Lessons Update
The lessons have been continuing to fly in! My original goal was to do around 20 hours a week coaching along with the 50 hours I do in the golf centre. This has now gone out of the window with a current average of 32 hours a week coaching plus the golf centre work. I am absolutely loving it. A big thank you to everyone for spreading the word about my lessons it has certainly worked with members of other clubs now coming to me.
I hope everyone is enjoying the lessons, finding them useful and of course playing better golf.
This past weekend I had the Bournemouth ladies (plus Rose) in for a two hour get into golf lesson. They all absolutely loved it and have gone back looking to take more lessons and start playing.
This is what it is all about, introducing new people to the sport and taking it up.
Double Roll Up Competition
Over Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July the popular double Roll Up competition was once again played in weather that was finally starting to look a bit more like summer. As the results started to roll in it seemed that the course was winning the day with many players struggling to reach the 36 point mark. Ian Davies continued his steady form to post 37 points but three points over the last three holes would unfortunately prove costly for him. Top spot on the Saturday would go to long hitting left hander Stuart Humprhies who after a very solid opening thirteen holes found a bit of bother on the 14th but composed himself to shoot 9 points on the last four holes to also shoot 37 points and pip Ian on countback.
On the Sunday a few more players were hitting the 36 point mark. Lewis Hodges posted 38 points which included a mixed bag on the back nine with a 4 pointer and two 3 pointers but also two blobs, taking advantage of the was early starter Mark Southall, after a slow start of just two points after two the coffee soon kicked in and Mark rallied to also shoot 38 points and take top spot over the whole weekend. Mark and Lewis have both seen their handicaps reduced and have both set there sights on more success over the next few weeks.
Final Standings.
1st Mark Southall - 38pts
2nd Lewis Hodges - 38pts
3rd Stuart Humphries - 37pts
Competition- Guess the Hole
Thank you to everyone who took part in the guess the hole competition in last weeks newsletter, pictured was Robert, Graham and a very young Sam laying turf on the 5th of Deer Park. Below is the picture once again with a slightly updated one looking from the green back down the fairway. The lucky winner drawn from all the correct answers was Mr Ian Downes who wins himself a dozen Srixon Golf Balls.
