Hello golfers and friends of CMGC, what a week it has been! I am not sure I have ever seen CMGC so busy especially over the weekend with the beer festival. We estimate that nearly 2000 people came down the drive. I must say it was great to see the place buzzing and everyone enjoying the course, clubhouse and facilities we offer. With the bank holiday coming up we have a 18 hole roll up on the Saturday and Monday and the famous Hendry 3 club Sunday which is the first trophy competition of the year! Fingers crossed for some nice weather and I hope to see you all up here over the bank holiday!
Beer Festival…. Best Ever!
After two weeks of 13 hour days, stress, anxiety and a little bit of worry I am delighted to report that the 2014 Cleobury beer festival held at CMGC was a HUGE success. We had over 2000 pints and were left with just 16 which is an all-time record. Saturday was extremely busy with it being at capacity from 4pm onwards. CMGC member Aaron Booton once again did an amazing job with the open mic and that staged 10 hours of musical entertainment. The condition of the beers was also perfection with everything served at the correct temperature. We are also delighted with the amount of press coverage it got with FIVE different photographers coming over the two days to report on it, with it even making the front page!
I cannot tell you how humbling it is for me, Tom, Graham and Aaron to see so many people enjoying the weekend and it being a firm fixture in the community calendar.
Once again thank you all very much for attending!

Flag Sponsorship
Total Truck Training and CMGC have signed a rolling 12 month contract to sponsor all 27 flags. We are delighted to announce this deal on the back of all the tee signs also been sponsored. It is great to support local businesses and showcase the different services our members businesses offer.
CMGC owner Graham Pain had this to say 'we are delighted to have agreed this deal with CMGC member Ian Orme and his business Total Truck Training. Ian is a fantastic member and we hope to send plenty of business his way. Like us Ian runs a family business and we could not be happier working together'.
Ian Orme also added 'agreeing this deal was a no brainer for me with the potential extra exposure it brings. I love being a member of Cleobury and the atmosphere within the club, the flags have come out really well and we hope this starts a long and fruitful relationship between the two businesses'.
Total Truck Training's aim is to provide the very best industrial fork lift truck training money can buy. They believe the standards laid down by (ITSSAR) to be the most comprehensive and endeavour to work within these standards.
Not only do they provide and promote safe systems of work with Mechanical Handling Equipment, but also believe that this type of training at such a high standard should be affordable and excellent value for money. Total Truck Training believe a flexible, professional, affordable and safe approach to training should always be maintained. All of the green keepers here at CMGC are trained by them for the various course they offer and we can certainly recommend them for their outstanding training and professionalism. CMGC and Titleist Team Up
CMGC has been chosen to launch a new prov1 and prov1x campaign by Titleist. Our representative Ben Fisher selected us out of all his accounts because he sees how hard we work and get behind the brand.
The way it works is…. In any competition over May before you play you buy a pack of Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls for the discount price of £10. You then select 6 holes over the 18 before you head out. If you are under your handicap for those 6 holes you win another pack absolutely FREE, it is that simple.
I personally think it is a no brainer to try out as you have nothing to lose, end of the round you still get a sleeve of balls at a discounted price to use. I have approached a few members to get a little bit of feedback on the idea.
Not everyone is a Pro V1 user, very true however this is just a trial. We have 48 packs to sell and report back to Titleist with. If the campaign is successful we will use it for all ball families e.g. DT Solo, NXT etc.
It is just another gimmick to sell balls, yes they are doing it to sell golf balls however that is not the point they want people to use the ball again and convert people who are maybe users of other balls to the Pro V1 or Pro V1x. In competition play 90% of golfers use a new golf ball takes off and this way you are supporting the shop and also potentially winning another sleeve for free…. If you can find 6 Pro V1 or Pro V1x for £10 (that are real and not off eBay) I would be shocked.
