Hello once again to all the members, friends and associates of Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club. This week has been fantastic and a bit of a blur with so many players through the door enjoying all we have to offer. The course is now bone dry, so much so the irrigation system had its first outing Tuesday. With the season now well and truly here it is great to see the course busy and receiving some great praise. Close to 200 played in the Seniors Open an average of 40 players in the Wednesday night roll ups a busy knock out and the weekend competitions filling up.

CMGC is certainly the place to be for any golfer wanting competitive golf in a relaxed fun environment but with a very good golf course attached. With the bank holiday coming up we have availability, please call us to book in and avoid the rush and then head home to watch Leicester win the league!

Check out some of the videos and pictures over the last few days to see for yourself what we offer.

Competition news

Lee 5 from 5

Last week we wrote about Lee Glasby and his continued winning streak…. Well he is at it again.

This week's double roll up saw the good weather continue even if it was a little cold at times, not quite t-shirt weather yet sadly!

As normal the golfers of CMGC got behind the competitions with a great turn out on Saturday and some steady scores came through the system as we moved back to summer rules. 4 scores of 37 topped the leaderboard on Saturday all coming from Rob Winnall, Colin Hopewell, Ash Cook and Adam Cook, who are all playing some great golf ready for the summer season to really take hold.

The Cook brothers fine form and equal score of 37 points topped them with 1st and 2nd place going into Sunday, with Ash Cook in first due to countback.

However the man of the moment Lee Glasby would soon knock them down into 2nd and 3rd.

As far as winning rolls go, Lee Glasby is definitely on one with 5 wins from his last 5 competitions, securing victory with a solid 41 points on this weekend's double roll up.

Dave Pain Director of Golf had this to say: "Lee has been playing some great golf and is definitely on a roll, it's great to see his handicap tumbling down!".

Results are as follows:

1st Place - Lee Glasby - 41
2nd Place - Ashley Cook - 37 CB
3rd Place - Adam Cook - 37 CB

Lesson Feedback

Some of my first Lucky 7 packages are now coming to an end and I am so pleased to be getting more fantastic feedback from clients. William Sutherland approached me striving for more consistency in his shots. Throughout the 7 lessons a plan was put in place in order to achieve these goals.

William was kind enough to send me a few words on his lesson experience.

"I have just completed a course of 7 lessons under the tutelage of David Pain, which I have enjoyed enormously. I feel I have made real progress and have more confidence in my game thanks very much to his clear and concise instruction technique. I shall have no hesitation in recommending him to other colleagues looking for help with their game. If you fancy a lesson please come and see, call or email me and let's get the first lesson booked in."
