Hello once again from the one and only CMGC…. 

And what a week it has been… almost like the flick of a switch the place has been a hub of activity with a busy car park and lots of golfers enjoying their golf. The course has really dried up now and back into shape, so much so the rough has had its first cut. Normally this takes a little longer than normal due to it being the heaviest machine

Lessons 

The lesson success story continues and shows no signs of slowing down. I worked out yesterday, 118 hours have been sold and currently I am doing on average 13 hours a week. If it this busy in March it could well be a very busy summer. 

I have really enjoyed working with everyone so far and even the golfers who are not members of CMGC really seem to be getting involved. Hopefully I can sign them up as full members and show then what a great course and atmosphere we have here. 

This week has seen some great scores posted and improvements made - 32 putts for a 15 handicapper over 18 holes being the stand out success. It was also great to get some feedback from my lessons and received this awesome email.
"Excellent lesson mate really enjoyed it and will take everything on board that you have said. This is why I wanted the lessons with you as I feel 12 handicap is about where my natural ability is and needs someone to help me break into single figures. As a recap for you as I know the teaching is new for you...you did a cracking job Dave. Very informative and the way you put it across what you want me to try is simple to understand which in turn makes it simpler to execute. Great use of the ipad with the pictures etc. Makes it all in all a 10/10 experience mate and if I require more lessons after my 7 I will book without hesitation. Top training from a top bloke.

Key changes picture 1 - Right hand side is before left after changes. Ball position was too centred and hands behind the ball. We moved the ball position pushed the hands forward and straight away you can see a better set up and position.

Key changes picture 2 - ball position, hand in correct forward position which in turn straightens up the posture and makes putter sit square.

Free Junior Coaching! 

During the Easter holidays we are hosting two FREE junior academy dates. They will run from 9am until 2pm with everything included such as equipment, coaching, prizes etc. 

The only charge is £3 for lunch. Coaching held on Tuesday March 29th & Wednesday March 30th.

From Cooking The Dough To Putting For Dough! 

What a beautiful weekend for the pairs betterball competition here at CMGC. The course was drying out lovely and we were expecting some great scores and we weren't disappointed. An array of 39 points can through from the early starters, making us think it was hard out there, however the Highley boys didn't leave anything out there and put on a great display. 

The father and son combo of Rob and Adam Winnall worked well together and showed a great display of golf and scored a fantastic 46 points, however the day belonged to Steve Scrace and Steve Evans. Both on the back of working from Steve Evans early shift in the bakery and Steve Scrace's 12 hour night shift. The Steve duo bounced well of each other and ripped up the course with a fantastic 47 points showing how it's done! 

Golf professional Amy had this to say: "It's great to see some scores like that as we come into the season. The Steves played some great golf and could be a formidable partnership going forward".

Stuburt growing shoe market share 

I recvieved some great news from our friends at Stuburt this week. Stuburt now has a 5% market share in the UK golf shoe market. Though some way behind the market leader they are making inroads into this category.
