Hello and good day once again from everyone here at Cleobury Mortimer GC.
Well what a strange week it has been, on Friday we had golf buggies back out on the course but then storm Imogen hit us, resulting with us operating with carry bags only. The subject of bad weather is certainly getting boring now! At the end of last week the greenkeepers managed to get out there and cut all the tees and green surrounds. The course is obviously wet but as normal we are open to anyone that fancies it!
The 3rd of Deer Park freshly cut.
After a rain soaked Saturday the Weekend roll up was contested on Sunday with some much improved weather. Early starter John Westley continued his steady winter form with 36 points. Last weeks winner Dan Giles continued his good form to also shoot 36 points, however the day belonged to Ross Moorcroft who shot one over on the back nine (Foxes Run) despite taking a bogey on the last after knocking it in to the lake. Ross finished with a very impressive 37 points to take top spot, which is a position we expect Ross to be consistently achieving in 2016.
CMGC director of golf Dave Pain had this to say
'It was difficult round out there with some very strong winds, Ross really showed his class to shoot such a great back nine score around Foxes Run which is a tough 9 holes. It was a thoroughly deserved win'.
Final standings:
1st - Ross Moorecroft - 37 points
2nd - John Westley - 36 points (count back)
3rd - Dan Giles - 36 points
Millward's Merchandise
Firstly a big thank you to everyone who support last week's Titleist offer with 20 dozen sold!
So the upcoming season is fast approaching which means it is the perfect opportunity to change those old, slippery and worn grips for some top quality new Golf Pride ones. Don't forget your clubs should be re-gripped once every year or every 40 rounds!
So my deal this week is:

This grip is a One Piece Wrap Grip that combines the look and feel of leather but has the durability and performance of high tack rubber.
Why wait? This could be the game changer you have been looking for!
To sweeten the deal, I will offer 24 hour turn around, or if you are travelling from far. Phone ahead and I will make sure they are fitted whilst you wait!
New Putter Grip?
New stock is constantly arriving in the Golf Centre and this week saw the new Sink Putter Lamkin Grips made with a super light weight rubber for a more responsive feel.
A curved handle profile is used to promote proper wrist alignment!
Say bye bye to the 3 putt!
